THE STORY

Dedicated to Lex's Mom, Viola "Vibie"

In a Time of Darkness

Everyone has a moment when the light unexpectedly goes out in their life. That moment may come at the end of a relationship, during illness, after losing a job, or when someone you love passes away. Suddenly there is darkness where positivity, happiness, and light once lived.

For Lex, that moment came when she lost her Mom in 2017. When she left the physical world, something inside Lex left too, but she knew that she needed to find the light again. Not only for herself, bu for her mom too.

The Note

After the passing of Lex's mom, Lex needed to find comfort. One day she was looking through her mom's keepsake box where she stored memorabilia, poems, old id's and love notes. One note stood out, it's started with, "Hey Vibie". It was a note that her dad had written to her mom back in '81. Lex's dad had given her mom the nickname, "Vibie" short for her name "Viola". Right when Lex read that note, she knew she wanted to use that name someway, somehow. Later on, it would be used within her business name, "Vibes Candles".

Dedicate to Lex's Mom - "Vibie"

To honor Lex's mom and to find her own comfort after her mother's passing, she decided to make a special candle. Growing up, her parents always had candles burning and they all loved the relaxing ambiance and cozy vibes they brought to a room. This memory, along with Lex's natural gravitation towards creativity as an outlet, made creating a candle feel so right.

Before diving into the creative process, Lex researched and tested for many years. Through this process she chose to use a custom blend wax, paired with natural wicks. These natural and non-toxic ingredients combined would create a candle she could feel good about bringing into the world.

In Memory

Lex's father passed many years before her mother when she was nineteen years old. Veola and Ralph, Lex's Mom and Dad will forever live on within Vibes Candles like an eternal flame.
