HAND POURED
Hand poured by your girl (me), Lex. One by one, in a little studio out of Massachusetts. I am also the Graphic Designer and have designed all packaging to meet my Vibey and Magical needs. I wanted Vibes Candles and the packaging to stand out from the crowded candle industry. I wanted to be different and I needed to design packaging that was not like everyone else. Each Crystal Candle comes in the Vibiest holographic box with gold foil printing. When you open the box, you will release all the Good Vibes and energy that the Crystals carries. Each Crystal Candle also comes with a Crystal Card that tells you all about the Crystal Candle you chose along with a card that gives you tips on how to care for your Wooden Wick Candle.
THE WAX – COCONUT & SOY WAX BLEND
The wax that I use is a custom blend of coconut and soy. This blend has a super white appearance and provides an amazingly good fragrance throw. It is FDA approved, environmentally friendly, and health conscious as it includes no harmful ingredients.
First, I set my Wax Melter to the proper melting temp. By the way I have named my Wax Melter, “V” after my Mom of course, or sometimes her name is, “Bad Bitch”. While she’s heating up, I cut my wax and weigh it out to what I am pouring for the day. After I weigh my Wax, I add it to V, the wax needs a little time to melt so it gives me time to prep everything else.
PREP CONTAINERS – CRACKLING WOODEN WICKS
The Wicks that I use are made out of 100% Wood and naturally processed and sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified mills and manufactured in the USA. They are known for their soft crackling sounds creating a relaxing Vibe and ambiance.
While my wax is melting, I prep my candle vessels. Each vessel needs a Warning Label, a Wooden Wick and a Logo Label.
After the labels are applied, it’s time to set the Wicks. I take a Wick and set it into a Wick Clip, these metal clips hold the Wooden Wick into place. I then apply a Wick Sticker to the bottom of each Wicked Wick Clip and then set the Wick into my containers. I repeat this step to as many candle containers I am pouring for that day, sometimes 50, sometimes 100. It depends on the day.
FRAGRANCE
The fragrances for Vibes Candles are not your ordinary fragrances. My potions are unique, sophisticated, magical and created to match the feeling and Vibe of each crystal. These potions will relax you and fill your room with all the Good Vibes.
Now that I have prepped by containers and my wax is melted it’s time to add the fragrance or potions as I like to call them. I weigh out and pour my fragrance into V and stir up the wax and fragrance until its nice and blended. Once blended it’s time to pour baby! See, I told you there are many steps to Vibes Candles. Each Crystal Candle gets poured one by one with so much attention to detail.
CRYSTALS
The magic behind Vibes Candles comes from the crystals that are handpicked by me, Lex from suppliers around the world. When the crystals arrive to my studio, they are washed and cleansed under the moonlight to clear their vibrations from traveling. Since crystals hold onto positive and negative energies, this cleansing process resets each crystal so they are ready to pass on and be charged with your personal intentions.
It takes 24 hours for the Wax to set and become a solid. After my wax is set, I hand place each and every Crystal into each candle vessel, one by one. Once the crystals are set into place, I heat up the wax again to even it out and to make it look like each Crystal is growing from the wax, it’s a tedious process but it really calms me and I seriously love making each and every Crystal Candle.
MY FIRST BATCH OF CRYSTAL CANDLES
When I first started Vibes Candles in honor of my Mom, you can read the full story here. I remember making my first batch, of Clear Quartz Crystal Candles. This was after a year and a half of testing, creating, sampling and so much more testing.
I remember after finishing the batch, I took a step back to see what they looked like. I finally got a glimpse of all the hard work and dedication I put into my business. It was a Magical moment, and I felt a huge rush through my body and I immediately started to cry. I was so proud and, in that moment, I feel as though my Mom was right there with me, saying “you did that”. It was like a confirmation from her. It was a moment I will never forget; I have chills writing this and remembering that specific moment.
